My poor little sister! Dakota (did I mention that she is NOT photogenic) had a terrible episode yesterday with her back. She couldn't stand up for almost two hours. She was in so much pain she pooped on the floor, but mom said it was okay and cleaned it up. I tried to help by kissing Dakota's pretty face. I'm sure it made her feel better. Boxer healing vibes work wonders.
But then they took her away in the car and left me home alone. They were gone forever. I was very scared that I was alone and that they took my sister away. When she finally came back, she could walk again - she seemed back to normal, except she was very tired. She slept most of the evening, so I slept with her in sympathy.

Awww, what happend Cubby? Is it something that could effect other pups? Is she going to be alright? Please let me know. I won't tell mommy the story until I hear all the details, you know moms. They get a bit paranoid when they hear about illnesses.
Dakota has a back problem. Two of her vertebrae are too close together and she sometimes gets a pinched nerve (they think) when she jumps down. That's why she can't come upstairs and sleep with us anymore.
How old is she? Last year my mommy thought I had a back injury and took me to the vet FOUR times before they refered us to the neurologist.
On my very 1st b-day I went to the neurologist. It turns out I had bone growing in my vertebrae, which was caused by a bladder infection that went untreated. The x-rays said everything was fine.
But I would cry until I could not move. I am still on meds (the Dr. has me on them for 7 months). I am so glad I have parents who love me and pay for all those vet bills.

Oh, that's terrible! Poor Cairo! How long do you have to take that medicine? Do you still hurt?
Dakota is 4 years old, and she's had this trouble for almost two years. It is not too bad with her medicine, but the vet had changed it. Now she's back on the old medicine! Yeah!
I have 2 more months of meds to go. Then I will get bladder tests ever 3 months for the next year. The good thing is I love going to the vet. Yeah, I know I am weird but they give me so much attention when I go its great!
