Exciting!

What an exciting night we had! We went for our regular midnight walk (no sprinkles!), and the excitement began!

First we saw a grey fox (this picture from NPS)! The moms saw it streak by last night, but they didn't know what it was - they thought maybe a cat. But tonight she just stood there looking at us for the longest time. I can't believe we had no camera! Dakota and I went CRAZY when it ran away. (There was a grey fox spotted at the Northview Dairy recently too. One of my favorite blogs is Northview Diary - you should check it out!)

Then the moms saw a head in the bushes. They didn't know what it was at first, but it was Joe Kitty (still in dispute), an orange cat. Again, we flipped out!

On our second lap, we saw a possum rounding the building - more barking! Then on the way home, we saw a different possum. The moms have been wanting a possum picture for the longest. A fox would be a real coup. I don't think we'll be going out without a camera for the next few weeks...

By the way, my leg seems to be better today - thanks for all of your healing vibes. Unfortunately, both moms were limping tonight. They looked like old ladies!

Aw, Cubby, thanks for the kind mention. We all like your blog too!
And I hope your leg is getting better. Sounds like there is a lot of wildlife you need to be barking at!

Sorry you hurt your let cubby. Hopefully it will be all better soon. Those darn moles keep tunneling in our yard and we are sure to get hurt in one of their holes sooner or later. Does anyone have mole tips or tricks? You seem to run into so much wildlife. Lucky! BTW...Diesel got neutered on Friday and so we are getting really yummy treats for sympathy.

Cubby,

We are glad our dachsie healing thoughts helped you. We will send some to the moms too but let us know if they start howling at the moon or growing furry coats!
