Today's ornaments are favorites of both of the moms. Two years ago, mom had back surgery right before Christmas. She ended up staying in the hospital for several days. The other mom stayed with her, and during her wanderings in the hospital, she came across these beautiful glass trees (there is a green one, too).
She bought them, and they went on the tree as soon as the moms got home. That was their first Christmas together, with mom sleeping in a hospital bed underneath the Christmas tree and the other mom fighting for space on the couch with Dakota and their former boxer, Betty. The trees are now on their third tree, and they are beautiful!

Oh nice tree. Mom hasn't gotten one this year as she says I would just ruin it. :(
