1. The tail. He's got a big long tail, and I have a nubbin. Maybe that was the problem...but Dakota has a massive tail, and she's stuck home with me. That must not be it.
2. The location. Texas lives in Australia, and it's summer there. That could be it! Well, except it was sunny and warm here on Sunday. That's no excuse.
3. The parents. I suppose that could be it, except I have the best mommies EVER, so that could not be my problem.
4. The past. My one trip to the dog park ended when a little runt terrier started picking on me and I very politely showed him that I was the boss, and he was a puny runt. Then I remembered that Texas was actually injured at a trip to the dog park. It was so bad, he almost* had to wear a cone. That is worse than my little spat.
Then it hit me. I know the problem! It must be the stripes! Texas is a stripey brindle! Easily fixed. Now that I have converted to the brindle side, I can start making my Sunday plans! WOOOOHOOOO!
* correction pointed out by Texas himself :)

Wow Cubby! I never realised what a cute butt you had! It smells somewhat familiar. Even if you didn't have stripes, you can be my honorary brindle buddy any time. Me and my hoomans love you very much.
Love and Licks to you, Dakota and the Mums,
Texas (and his humans).
P.S. I almost had to wear a cone for my injuries - thankfully Dad talked Mum out of buying one. Phew! By the way, how's your eye - mine's almost as good as new. Is there a problem with eating eye-goober? I think it tastes great! Mum says that it's gross. Whatever :)
Hee Cubby, you're so smart to figure that out. Let us know if you did get those treats

Good disguise Cubby! Let us know if it works.

Cubby, just give your moms the sad eyes and it will work soon enough!

Thanks for the tip Cubby! We ride in car for hours to go to dog park. Now, if we all get brindle coats, a park will appear in our town! Cool.

Nice blog. You are lucky to live where it is warm and you can smell stuff. Everything is still frozen here.

Hey Cubby, let us know how that works out for you. We're willing to try anything to get us more treats and dog park trips!

Oh cubbie... we have to drive a long way to the bark park... you mean if we change from being a blonde and a redhead to a stripey brindle the bark park will move closer? Works for us! Please advise so that we can inform dogmom!
Ha roo roo roo! Good one, Cubby!
Play bows,
Zim
Whistle whistle yourself, Cubby!! You're handsome as either brindle or fawn!

Great idea! Do tell us if it works. We might follow suit.

cubby, what a GREAT plan!!! You should have a detective coat like me!!!
Cubby,
We hope the brindle coat gets you to the dog park but the other dogs will still be jealous of your good looks and charm. That is the real reason you don't get to go.

OMG you look different with those strips but cute...well no matter what you look like I will always be yours.
cubby--good plan. i don't get to go to the b-a-r-k p-a-r-k anymore because of a little "attitude problem" i have. maybe i should try the brindle disguise. you're one smart dude.
