Revisiting the Wasp

My mom said I didn't tell you enough about the wasp incident in yesterday's blog, so here is the truth about the whole ugly episode.

What happened was, we were out for our afternoon constitutional (that's what mom calls it when she takes me out to go potty in the afternoon) I had done my business and headed for home. We were walking down the sidewalk and mom saw a buzzy thing on the pavement. She tried to get me to go around, but I was determined to go straight home because it was too hot for extra walking! I took one more step and felt something touch my foot. Then the buzzy thing, I later learned it is called a "wasp," pointed it's butt at me and bit me with his butt. Yes, he BIT me with his BUTT!!! I lifted my injured paw off the ground and gave mom a look of horror and disbelief. Good mommy stepped up and squashed that wasp, grinding it's biting little butt to smithereens. YAY mommy! I didn't want to put my poor little paw down on the ground and tried to get mommy to carry me home but she selfishly refused. So, I limped the last fifteen miles, well, fifteen steps, home.

At home, mommy tried to look at my injured paw, but I didn't want her to look. I hate having my feet touched and now she was trying to look and touch and pick and rub, my poor little paw. She finally left me alone for a minute, so I got up on the couch and licked my wound. After much poking and prodding on my foot, Mom called the vet to check and see if my medicine is compatible with Benadryl, just in case I swelled up like a watermelon. I am fine today, no swelling ever appeared, and the pain is gone. I hope she's happy now. She is really quite the taskmaster.
