Poor Dakota

My little sister has been very sick for the past two days. She threw up all day Thursday and Friday. Mom even had to go out and get more paper towels.

She was eating grass like crazy (that's why we call her Angus) when we went out and walked, and then she'd come in and throw it up.

The meanies wouldn't feed her or let her drink! She was so thirsty and sad, and they made her live in the kitchen where there is tile. It was pitiful.

She went to the vet on Friday. Here is how she tells it:

I was such a good girl. I didn't even throw up in the car - to make sure the moms knew I wasn't throwing up, I hung my head over their shoulders. They seemed kind of nervous about that for some reason.

When I got into the office, I acted happy and perky in order to make a good impression. The moms seemed annoyed. I'm not sure why - I was just doing my best! A puppy came in the waiting room, and he wanted to play. His mom also mentioned how nice and perky he seemed now.

Next, they took me in a little room and made me stand on a metal thing. That freaky thing started lifting in the air! It was scary, but mom wouldn't let me jump off. Mom said I need to go on a diet (92 pounds). Not feeding me for two days isn't enough of a diet? I could be a supermodel!

Finally, the doctor came in and took my temperature (YIKES!). He looked in my mouth and listened to my heart. All was well. Then he gave me some suppositories (YIKES again!). I gave him a look. I couldn't help it.

After that, he gave me a shot. I guess the look backfired. I was not a happy girl. A girl came in the room, made my mom move, and put me in a head lock while the doctor stole some of my blood! The vampire! I am a good girl and don't need a head lock, thank you. I'm never going back there.

Really, she'll go back, don't worry. I guess all the mean things worked, because she hasn't thrown up since. She finally got to drink last night. The moms gave her half a cup of ice cold water every thirty minutes! She is not that special, folks!

Finally, they boiled her some potatoes late last night. This is going a bit too far. Just throw the girl some kibble! She'll eat anything, the cow! She is now free from the kitchen, and drinking tap water again. I guess the crisis is over. She's still getting potatoes, though. Hmph!
