Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving has come and gone. I ate some turkey and ham; Dakota and my moms didn't. I have many things to be thankful for, but I think the thing I am most thankful for is my forever home.

I share this luck with many other Legacy Boxer Rescue alumni. So far this year, LBR has saved
287 boxers

Thanks to my friends who volunteer and donate to this wonderful cause, these babies are safe and warm tonight.

Are all those faces shocking? How can so many boxers be homeless?

Does it warm your heart? How can a few dedicated people make such a difference?

How about this cute face? LBR saved him this year, too. I miss that little Magoo!

Thank you for saving me and my friends and my brother, Magoo. I'm lying on the couch under a pretty purple blankie because of those wonderful donors and volunteers, instead of having died two years ago alone in a shelter.

I can't believe there are so many boxers waiting for homes. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they all had homes for Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving, Cubby. Tell your moms thank you for saving so many sweet boxers. It is sad that so many people don't care for their dogs and someone else has to take over the job if the dog is going to live out a happy life. We are lucky that we have Mom. You are lucky you have your moms.

Great rescue post! The cocker crew firmly agrees! But they are disappointed that they didn't get any of your turkey. They did get ham and stole a plate of baklava, so all was not lost.

Now that's something to be thankful for - all of the rescue volunteers and people who opened their homes to the boxers and Magoo. Hopefully next year there will be fewer boxers who need to be rescued.

Good work Cubby. It makes me feel good just to know that many pups found homes this year. Nothing is better than having a dog or two or three as a companion. Throw in a couple of cats also.

Cubby, when I see Santa Paws this year I will ask him for forever homes for all the dogs in the world that need rescuing. I will also ask him for lots of donations to Legacy Boxer Rescue, so that you and your Moms can continue to do the work you do.

Hi ya Cubby & Dakota! We're back from r long road trip & sniffed over 2 c whacha up 2. So sad so many boxers and other doggies are without 4ever homes. We asked Santa to please help. We keep all doggies, kitties & creatures in our prayers for 4ever homes. You got a good mommy to help them.

Wow- my mom started crying when she saw how many boxers there were and when she saw the picture of Bogart. At least he has a temporary mom. Congrats on being Mr. October of 2008 (I saw from Peanut's blog). Glad you had a Happy Thanksgiving.

What an amazing feat for the rescue group...and what a tragedy that so many lovely dogs need to be rescued at all. Keep up the good work!

As others have said, the work Legacy Boxer has done is astounding, but it's criminal that that many Boxers alone have needed help.

Wow--that's a lot of boxers and how cool that your people put them all together.

My moms decided to foster an older dog--we can't foster all the time, but they do love it when we can.

Happy thanks month to your and our moms!

See ya

Your moms and their rescue do great work, Cubby. It's not just the dogs who are lucky, but people should learn from other people's kindness and compassion.

We miss Magoo, too! :)
