That day, three short years ago, I got a forever home, two moms, and a new name. Cubby was born! My moms bought me that cool blue harness, and took me home.
It's been a very exciting three years. I got a sister to play with. Her name is Dakota, and she's weird, but I love her. It took time, but I taught her to be cool and play like a boxer. At first she just stood there and looked horrified when I would bite her legs, box her, and mouth wrestle. She came around eventually.
I made my moms start volunteering with Legacy Boxer Rescue. I owed them after they saved me from certain death at the shelter. I have helped save many boxers in my three years. I have been a boxer ambassador, visiting potential boxer families, and attending many pet fairs, like this one.
I learned to play with toys. At first, I didn't play with toys at all. Then I started playing with toys alone, then with the moms, and finally with Dakota. Now I am a total playbaby!
I went on lots of car and truck rides, all over the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I try my best to make my moms take me everywhere (as a tip for all of my buddies, if you lick a hole in the wall when they leave you alone, they won't leave you alone as often).
I got to meet and visit my cousin , Dude. He eventually got a sister, Trina, and I get to visit her, too.
I learned to ask for (and get) belly rubs. My friends (who I met on a home visit) call it being a "show dog!" I got so good at it, that now I even ask strangers sometimes!
I had two eye surgeries. During that sad time, I learned to wear a cone on my head. I went from being afraid of it at first, to using it as a shield in my Dakota wrestling matches.
I have received and sent more cards, letter, and packages than I ever thought possible for a boxer. I have made many blogger friends all over the world, and I love them all.

I got to see some snow a couple of times, and the moms bought me a coat. Dakota thinks snow is the best thing besides food. I think it makes my feet cold, but I do look good in my coat!
I won a trophy in a costume contest. It was at a Legacy Boxer Rescue event, and I dressed as a lobster and as Mickey Mouse. Dakota still covets my trophy!
I had a foster brother, Magoo, last summer. He was the coolest brother ever! We played non-stop, and I taught him to be a boxer. When he got adopted, his new sister had to reteach him to be a schnauzer!
I have had lots of yummy food and treats, including getting to lick the ice cream carton when it's empty. I do a very thorough job of it, if I do say so myself.
I have had lots of nappies on the couch. When the house is too cold, I will grunt until the moms throw a blanket on me.
I built my own website, Cubby Art, where I make clip art of dogs, and other stuff. Half of my profits go to Legacy Boxer Rescue, half go to treats for me and Dakota.
I had two dogs named after me, Cubby and Cubby. I am so proud of both of my nakesakes!

I also found a very beautiful blogger girlfriend, Cairo. Just look at that face!
I have had a rich and wonderful three years. Who would have thought that this little boxer in danger of being euthanised at a shelter, could get so lucky? Happy Birthday to me!!!
