Putting up the Tree
Well, I decided to put up the Christmas tree finally.
I normally put it up the day after Thanksgiving, but the moms took me to wrap presents for Legacy Boxer Rescue that day, so I put it off.
First, I had to haul this huge box down the stairs all by myself after digging it out of the closet.
I opened the box and started getting the parts out, and then Dakota had to come sniffing around trying to "help." Interpret help as getting in my way.
I finally got the whole thing together and then the top set of lights didn't light.
Sigh.
Why me?
I then had to replace each bulb one at a time to see which one was out. This is difficult without thumbs, so I had to carefully supervise mom instead of doing it myself.
She whined the entire time. It's hard to find good help these days.
Anyway, she could not find the evil zombie bulb, so I made her unwind the lights from the entire section of pre-lit tree.
More whining.
She again replaced every bulb one by one, and no luck. What the heck?
Extensive whining.
Finally I convinced her to try one more time, and BINGO! Twinkling lights galore!
I endured one final round of whining as she put the lights back on the top of the tree. She did a poor job, I must say.
But finally the lights were lit, and all was well. The tree looks very pretty.
Unfortunately, there was no time left for ornaments, so stay tuned for ornaments another day.
Mom wants to show you some of her favorite ornaments. I think I will show you her top 12 favorites for the 12 days of Christmas...
