Stinky Dakota

Dakota has a terrible smell coming out of her. I keep trying to point it out to the moms so they will do something about it!

I follow her around, trying to get a bead on what the stench might be, and hoping the moms will fix it. It's her ear, moms!

Instead, they just laugh at me and take pictures! What's up with that? Can't you smell that?

And don't you notice she's flapping her head every minute? She's got those jingly tags that make it even more obvious.

Hellooooooooo. Stink ear over here. She smells. She reeks. She's the stinkmeister. Phewwwwwy.

Oh, finally you are going to do something? Dakota makes a break for it when she sees the ear cleaning supplies, but mom makes a move and nabs her!

Ooooooh! Her ear is filled with goop and blech. You better work on that some more. Still stinky! And put some of that medicine in there, too!

Poor Dakota. She always has ear trouble. She's been doing better since we started eating the Natural Balance Fish and Potato Allergy Formula. Too bad we didn't know it was a food allergy problem years ago. Unfortunately, the store was out of the fish food last time, and the moms thought it would be fine to get the Natural Balance Venison and Sweet Potato Allergy Formula instead.

I guess not. Dakota ears got stinky and she started chewing her feet. Her udder got all red and ithcy. Then she started throwing up every day, so off to the vet (and off to the store for the fish food) we went. She's stopped throwing up now, and her ears are getting better, but she's still pretty itchy. And I get to eat all the venison food myself! Yeah! I guess once it's gone, though, it'll be fish food for life!

wow, that is pretty cool that you are able to treat most of it just by having the right food. I hate hate hate having my ears cleaned too, so I feel Dakota's pain.

Hey Cubby,

It's Roxie, Sammy & Andy here. Mona and her mommy came to visit us and were making entries on our blog. We wanted to come tell you hello! We miss you and miss blogging. Hopefully we will be back to it pretty regularly once our cousin (Mom's nephew) finds his own place to live and quits hogging the computer all evening.

We hope Dakota's ears are all beter now.

The lady is always sniffing at Reilly's ears to make sure they aren't stinky, and she cleans them every week, he HATES it. At least the food helps.

Dawson had stinky ears until Grammie found a recipe for ear stuff that cleared them up. Now he only gets it every few weeks. He is always chewing. Maybe we should try some of that fish food. We tried vension, but it didn't work. Grammie says email her and she will send you the ear stuff recipe.

ewww.... I hate having my ears cleaned, and even worse, I grow lots of hair in them that has to be pulled out- ouch! But if they don't get cleaned and plucked they get stinky and sore like Dakota's.

Hey Cubby,
We are on fish based food too because Maggie gets ear infections also and they are much better when she eats fish based food.... we used to be on all three different types of food, but mom got tired of paying for three different types of food, so now we are all stuck with the fish stuff! It's okay i guess.... but venison and sweet potato sounds like it would be yummy!!!

Cubby,

Oh, poor Dakota. Did she have trouble walking because of her ears? I'm glad your mom loves you both enough to take her to the vet. I never realized that a food allergy could be that severe. Give her a lick for me. I hope she is feeling better now.

Poor Dakota for having allergy. But she is looking good when you dig the ear in. She will be glad if something fishy will happen again.
