Snow Day!

OK, the truth is that we didn't get any snow here, just sleet. However, it was enough to keep my moms at home with me today. Yahoo! It was also enough for the kids in the neighborhood to make a series of tiny sleet-men. Isn't he cute?

We had a fun walk, except for the cold, wetness, and my coat. Dakota had a ball, though, and kept talking mom into walking farther. Hello, my little baby feet don't have coats on!

During the walk, I alerted my mom to the dangerous fact that a collection of giant evil birds was gathering across the street. I barked at them so much, mom decided to investigate. Have you ever seen the scary movie where the woman hears something outside and goes out to investigate? Apparently my mom missed that part. I was waiting for the hatchet killer to attack, but nothing happened. Mom said they were just buzzards and she wanted to be sure someone wasn't freezing to death in the woods. These are the same woods where I got attacked by a giant bird last March, so I wasn't keen on walking around under three of them.

There were three. Can you find them? There was a dead possom in the street, but he's been there for a week or so. Who knows what these guys were stalking? Maybe they were trying to lure a cute boxer into their lair!

I'm glad the birds didn't get you again! We have a hawk that lives in our woods and when she has young ones, she's very aggressive. My mom has been attacked before but not me. Mom hates it. She says it's HER woods, not the hawk's!
I'm glad to see you're out enjoying winter. I'm still waiting for snow - sigh......

Hugs,
Maggie

I don't know why moms don't listen - they just seem to have a mind of their own!

Cubby - We heard on the news that there is snow in Dallas. You mean the big-grey-box-in-the-living-room-that-talks LIES to us? I don't know what to believe any more. I wish you could have a snowkid like we do.

Opie can jump really really high. Do you want him to come and get those birds for you?

The only thing stupider than birds is a NO-possum. Especially a DEAD No-possum!

I am glad you didn't go in there and get picked on by nasty-looking birds. I would love to go and chase them all away! Sounds like you are having a nice time in the cold. It's hot here. Warm your feet up!

Oh, I am so glad I don't live there since they are trying to get a cute boxer in their lair.

As for the snow...well I hate being cold!

I think blue is your color - buzzards or no buzzards. Maybe you can get booties to match.

eek! are those crows or vultures? they look so menacing. crows apparently bear grudges (elephant memories these fellas have) so never go near them at all!

I was scared of The Birds too...I hid under grandma's dining room table when they watched it when I was a kid.

Those three big birds look menacing! We have hawks that swoop down toward the little dog next door. For some reason, they don't bother me...

Hey Cubby,

Renzo (the only dog in our pack without a double coat) as the SAME coat as you, I think. From Land's End--anyway, that's where his is from and it looks like yours. He's had to wear it these last few days on our walks since it's been cold and icy. We keep hoping for snow, but I don't think any is coming.

See you
Pippin
